Kenton-on-Sea is situated midway between Port Elizabeth and East London - approximately 75 minutes from Port Elizabeth, 20 minutes from Port Alfred and 30 minutes from Grahamstown. This natural paradise lies between two tidal rivers, the Bushmans and Kariega, and offers beaches voted the best in the country. Apart from the obvious swimming & snorkelling, both rivers offer superb fishing, boating, sailing, water-skiing and wind-surfing. Boats are available for hire for cruising up the rivers and for fitter individuals canoe trails are available.

The seafront comprises calm estuaries, sheltered rocky coves and long expanses of pristine sand. Visitors can explore the rocky pools of Middle-Beach; catch the dumpers at Shelley Beach or collect shells on a gentle stroll on the beach. Horse trails are also available at Kenton.

Kenton is also within easy reach of many world-renowned Malaria-free game reserves like the Addo Elephant Park , Shamwari, Pumba, Kariega, Sibuya, Amakala, Lalibela, Kwandwe. Many of these have been established along the upper reaches of Kenton's rivers. The unspoiled riverine bush is renowned for its bird-life and adds another dimension to the beauty of the region, which forms part of the South African Whale Route. Bird watching is most rewarding in this part of the Eastern Cape, with horse riding trails through indigenous Milkwood forests.

This area is steeped in history and there are many surrounding towns like Grahamstown, Alexandria, Bathurst and Salem which are rich in historical value and worth a visit. For the avid golfer the Royal Port Alfred, Alexandria and Fish River golf courses are nearby.
